Kumuluz API has been approved for financing by the public tender "Incentives for Research & Development Projects 2", by the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology - MGRT.
The investment is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund - EU ERDF.
In innovative economies of smart cities and communities, APIs act as a link that enables the creation of new (digital) value chains, partnerships, and novel uses.
Component research and development with the goal of establishing an API ecosystem of smart cities and communities
Kumuluz API is a research and development project that created an innovative solution for establishing an API ecosystem in smart cities and communities.
An API ecosystem can highlight key data and functionalities of different segments of smart cities, including traffic data, public transport, utilities, health services, and tourism data.
Smart cities can use their own or standardized descriptions of APIs, but they always need a platform that will drive and expose APIs to users or applications in a unified way - one that will connect the systems of individual providers.
The KumuluzAPI project addresses the experimental development of innovative building blocks for establishing an ecosystem API in a smart city and community environment.
